Dr. Joseph A. Sorge M.D. founded Stratagene Corporation, and served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1986 to 2007. He served as a surgical resident at Brown University from 1979 to 1980, trained as a post-doctoral fellow in molecular biology at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories from 1980 to 1983, and served on the staff of the Department of Basic and Clinical Research for Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation from 1983 to 1986. Dr. Sorge currently serves as an Adjunct Member of Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation. He founded Candor Entertainment in 2005 where he executive-produced several TV shows, and directed the documentary Divorce Corp. He also co-founded The Digital Forces, where he executive-produced a number of action sports feature films under the name Brain Farm. He holds B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1975 and M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1979.
